It is highly recommended that every student at HTMS enroll in the Springdale School Device Protection Plan (Chromebook Insurance). SDPP does not eliminate repair costs, but helps lower the cost of repairs should accidental damage occur to your child's chromebook. The cost of enrollment is $20 and will be available at Open House, August 10. However, you can skip the long lines and enroll online today! The Arkansas School Counselor Association has recognized Heather Barron as the region's Middle School Counselor of the Year! The School Board celebrated the Helen Tyson Middle School counselor's achievement at its March 14 meeting. #SpringdaleFamily

Parents, this upcoming Monday is ELPA testing week. If your child is ELPA21 testing, then please make sure their chromebook is charged and brought to school on Monday, and we advise getting a good night's rest and get to school on time in order to get breakfast.

Southwest Cheer Tryout Meeting. Join us to learn what it takes to be a cheerleader at Southwest Jr. High. The location is the SWJH cafeteria on February 21st at 5:30-6:30. Due to inclement weather on Friday, February 3, 2023, Springdale Public Schools will have an AMI (remote teaching and learning) day. All school buildings will be closed.

The track meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, February 6, at 6 PM in the SWJH cafeteria. This meeting is for parents and 7th grade students wanting to participate in track. Practice will begin the following day, February 7.

HTMS will continue to use the 9:00am and 1:00pm Team zooms for students to check in with their teachers. Students should be checking for work in each of their Google Classrooms. We understand not all students are able to connect, due to power outages or lack of internet/computer, so please encourage them to READ. Protected time to read a good book or magazine will benefit them greatly.

Attention HTMS families, Springdale schools will be shifting to Alternate Method of Instruction (AMI) Tuesday Jan. 30th. Schools will be closed and students will have the opportunity to work from home. All of our teachers will be available to students through Google Classroom and email. We have sent an email to all of our students with instructions. Please see the attached letter or ask your student to show you their email. Read it with them so they understand what to do. Thank you!
