Brock Returns to Springdale Family
Molly Brock has been named as the incoming principal for Harp Elementary School.
“I am beyond excited to return to Springdale. I began my career here and am honored to return and serve the families and community that is so dear to me,” Brock said. “Springdale's commitment to Professional Learning Community work is a commitment of mine too. I look forward to being a part of Harp and working with staff to continue the culture of greatness.”
Brock has worked as an educator for 23 years and has 20 years of experience with Springdale Schools, she said. She began her teaching career as an intern at George Elementary School in 2000, served as classroom teacher and an English as a second language facilitator at Parson Hills Elementary School from 2001-2006 and was the assistant principal of the former Lee Elementary School from 2006-2020.
Brock, 50, is currently finishing her third year as principal of Old Wire Elementary School in Rogers.
"We welcome Molly Brock back home as principal of Harp Elementary," said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent. "She is a dedicated administrator with great experience and enthusiasm for student learning. We look forward to her leading the remarkable staff and students at Harp."
Brock has earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of Arkansas, English as a Second Language endorsement from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and is licensed in educational leadership through Harding University in Searcy.
Brock will continue the Collaborative Team Meeting work that began at Harp and the district this school year, she said. She likewise plans to continue to build upon the positive culture that’s been established at the school through the commitment of its first principal, Linda Childers Knapp, current principal, Margaret Strange, and current assistant principal, Darrell Bolin.
“We will all work together as a school-wide Professional Learning Community to live our vision of teaching them all, learning for all and helping all students achieve at high levels,” Brock said. “I will also continue to provide a safe learning environment where students are able to grow in welcoming and engaging classrooms.”
Brock said she’s been married to her husband, Rob Brock, for 10 years. She has two daughters, Hannah Ash, 28, and Carley Smith, 22. Ash graduated in 2013 and Smith in 2018 from Har-Ber High School.
She said she's grateful for the opportunity to serve Springdale students once again.
“I'd like to thank Dr. Cleveland, the district leadership team and the Springdale School Board for giving me the opportunity to serve the students, families and staff at Harp Elementary,” Brock said.
